I have no idea how I overlooked an entire day. I’ve been at this for years and I’ve made some poor decisions with some bad planning but I have never just forgot an entire day exists. Luckily it’s the middle of the week in some of the most wild and least populated areas in the country.
With the rain and storms predicted throughout the day, Amy worked her magic and found us a camping spot at Canaan Valley State Park. A state park complete with an indoor pool and hot tub, Unicorn State Park. We got laundry done while we swam, and when the sun poked out we biked.
With any child’s life there are certain milestones that we parents eagerly await, the first word, first steps, and most importantly the first time your kids are capable of biking off around the campground loops and returning all on their own while you sit and read. They grow up sorta fast.
Soon we reach our first destination stop, New River Gorge National Park.
