After days of flat landscapes we finally got to dip our toes into the Rockies.

We ended up changing our original plans to head to Taos and Amy was able to find an excellent state park for us to explore.

We scrambled up rocks that make up the very first foothills of the Rockies. At night, after everyone else had tired out, I walked down to the lake, the views and nature were exactly what the doctor ordered and I’m totally ready to be hiking my way through Colorado for the next week on our way to Utah.
