Yosemite National Park, CA 2

Last year when camping in the Yosemite Valley, I got a little FOMO. People floating right by my campsite. Apparently you can float on a tube right straight down through the Yosemite Valley. Why didn’t anybody tell me! If I ever got another spot here, I told myself that I want to see the valley from this unique perspective. This year, I intend to create the FOMO.

The water level is low, so low that the tube rentals are shuttered for the season. This means a less crowded adventure but also a bumpier ride.

Float, Hike, Swim, only one left for tomorrow. Bike the Valley.

  1. Looks like a trip highlight and so memorable! Great planning ahead to get a spot to camp!

  2. This is sweet, but I’m curious as to how you pulled off the logistics of this. Did one of you miss the float and drive the bus downstream to pick everybody up? Or was there some other side carpooling going on?

    1. Great question. We actually just walked back, it was maybe two miles. Most people take the shuttle bus which is really easy we just didn’t want to deflate our tubes. Earlier in the season the river takes you further and faster and we would have taken the shuttle.
