What a great day! I’m so wired right now. What an intense day. Non stop action for six hours with a minute here or there with just enough time to consider what just happened and what’s coming next. A perfect day.
“They grow up so fast” is something you might hear someone else say, but it ain’t me.
I’m ready for adventure with my kids, I’m ready to stop worrying about height limits and age limits. I’m ready to white water raft down a gorge that the national government has deemed worthy of setting aside and protecting for the all future adventurers.

Fitz may have been half the age of anyone else on this trip, but the website says six years old and he turned six five days ago so time to saddle up.
I don’t know if this is a real hobby one can get into where I live but it’s been a long time since I fell in love with a new activity like that. Every time the white water was getting close I just got excited like the six year old kid right in front of me.

From the moment we signed up this could have gone two ways and I knew it was going to be a long long day if fear took over where thrill might otherwise exist.
Fitz and I were screaming with excitement at every smash of the bow as our personal tsunami overtook us. His first reaction was to exclaim that “this is way crazier than I had ever thought.”
I intended, this year, to share more about the difficulties and challenges of the trip, but it ain’t happening today. This was the stuff summer trips are made of.
