Come one come all! Come see the stuck Americans! I have zero recollection of booking this campground in January, but boy am I amazing. The early bird gets the worm, we have the single best spot in the entire campground. Directly on the ocean, we can sit and read by the bus while the kids play on the beach. It’s late after a long full day of adventure, all that’s left is just backing into our site, and here we go, THUNK. Try to go forward, wheels spinning. Try to go back, no luck. Hop out to assess, where did this six foot deep sink hole swallowing my tire come from! Almost instantly the first onlookers arrived and started asking us questions in French. Today we have crossed the border and left Quebec, I found this beautiful private campground just over the New Brunswick border on the way to a beach, it’s almost 100% seasonal campers who return year after year for the entire summer. This makes us, a bit of a novelty, add to it the strange bus with Pennsylvania plates is leaning over and all the workers are heading our way. A biker gang of 10 five year olds roll up, they find me interesting but have no clue what I am saying, we smile a lot. The crowd continues to grow as people are curious what the hubbub is all about. Our neighbor explains that one of the men helping and standing by is a local police officer so we have nothing to worry about. He would turn out to be our eventual neighbor for the evening.
In seven years, the bus hasn’t never touched a tow truck, now within the same week, here we are again. Although not ideal we begin to appreciate our predicament. For one, all of the adults seem to speak English in New Brunswick and the signs are all understandable again. The people here seem very kind and genuinely concerned for us, the bikers rolled up as a crew excited for me shouting that the tow truck is here, the owners take complete responsibility and feel so bad. The tow truck came and freed us. The hole was about five feet straight down and then liquid. Luckily there seems to be no serious damage and although we won’t get to stay directly by the ocean overnight, we will spend the evening walking along the shore looking for lobsters and sea glass. We strike up many conversations with the locals throughout our stay and the kids have even made friends with some of the other children, and even though they spoke different languages they easily spoke in the international language of showing each other their every single toy.

I will write about the entire day a a bit later today, it was awesome.
